What's in a Name? In short, an Identity. The importance and meaning of a name should be understood and the name SUN SOO ITF TAEKWON-DO AUSTRALIA is of particular importance to us.
Hangul or Korean Writing for 'Sun Soo', meaning 'Pure'
'Sun Soo', which is pronounced more like 'Soon Soo', has a very simple and very special meaning. In Korean language (which is Taekwon-Do's heritage) the word 'SUN SOO' means 'Pure', so we consider it to fit well with our ideal of keeping the art of Taekwon-Do as pure as we can, teaching exactly as General Choi has written in his books and until his passing delivered at his seminars .
On being accepted as a Member, you will be entrusted with this namesake to represent Sun Soo ITF Taekwon-Do Australia and your fellow Members faithfully while keeping true to this ideal.
